TrainingI have a BA in Art from Edgecliff College in Cincinnati OH. My primary studies were in weaving. My senior thesis was in rugs. Since then, I have been weaving and teaching for over 20 years. I'm an active member of the Weavers Guild of Greater Cincinnati (and a recent past president)and have continued to learn at many workshops that have been offered.
Weaving In shop, I teach beginning weaving and personalize to the individual as he/she progresses. Most of these classes are one-on-one.
For workshops: I primarily stick with rugs on 4H:
1) Rug techniques from basic on - suitable for anyone who can set up a loom and read a draft
2) Summer & Winter (or Taquete) for rugs. This makes a 2 block pattern. Includes instruction on profile drafting.
DyeingI've taught a basic class on random warp dyeing. After a warp of rayon chenille or pearl cotton is ready, we dye it in the warp chain.
Travel
I mostly teach from my studio, but have given workshops at local guilds. This year I will also be travelling to nearby states to give workshops.
