There was once an emperor who was very vain. He hired some weavers to weave him the best and finest new cloth for a new garment. These weavers were tired of always following the latest new trends in colours and fashion, so they pretended to weave the finest new cloth that could be appreciated only by the wisest and best men and women in the land. Every day the wove on their big loom and all the emperors advisors watched, but saw nothing. But no one wanted to admit to be less wise than the others, so they all prized the fine fabric describing them most eloquently.

When the emperor was shown the fabric and he could not see anything, he could not admit to be less wise than his underlings, so he found even more brilliant words to describe the fine cloth. He wore the new garment for a parade and all the people in the country lined up to watch him pass. No one could see the fabric, but none dared to admit that he was stupid.

Finally a small boy shouted, but the emperor is naked! Upon which all the people realized, that a small boy surely could not be stupid.
