Greek - Goddess of Weaving

Age of Fable
Penelope's husband Ullyses goes off to the Trojan war. Penelope hopes for his return. She delays deciding on a new suitor by engaging in the preparation of a robe for the funeral canopy of Laertes, her husband's father. She pledges to make her choice among the suitors when the robe was finished. During the day she works at the robe, but in the night she undoes the work of the day. This is the famous Penelope's web, which is used as a proverbial expression for anything which is perpetually doing but never done.

Penelope - Greek Mythology
"After almost twenty years of waiting for her husband to return to Ithaca, Penelope was forced to agree to wed one of the many suitors that had occupied her palace, and promised to make a decision once she had finished weaving a shroud for Laertes. Weaving during the day, she stayed up tearing it up at night to delay the moment, but was discovered and just about to make the choice when Odysseus finally turned up, killing or chasing away the suitors. "
