I like to use linen in my weaving. I like its crispness and precision. It can be a challenging fiber to work with. It is not forgiving as wool is. All your mistakes show up. However, a well woven project is something to be proud of.
For this project, I used a 2 ply bleached tow linen. I found it a bit tricky to work with as the loose bits of tow were sticky while I was winding the warp onto the loom. Once wound on, it behaved quite well. I kept a spray bottle of water handy, giving the warp a few sprays as I advanced the warp.
This project made 8 table runners, each 28 inches long with a 4 inch allowance between each runner for fringe.
