I am the daughter of navy lifer, niece of two navy lifers, married to a navy lifer , and have a son waiting to enlist after school. My oldest son is army. I am aware of the Toasty Toes programme in the USA where they make slippers for sailors in the USN. Well, now that our fleet is enroute to harm's way, I thought, why can't we have our own project for our sailors?

I contacted DND and told them of the idea and where I live and how I can get the slippers to them for shipment to the ships. They gave me permission to organize this for our fleet, and will send on to the fleet all slippers I deliver to them.

So, for anyone who wants to participate, please make a good firm slipper for male or female foot, as we have ladies serving now.

At this point I have not come up with a 'uniform' pattern, and do not want to infringe anyone's copyright, so let's use our favourite pattern until I can get one.

Mail your slipper(s) with a short note attached to the slippers for the recipient, stating you are part of the 'Warm A Sole Project'. to:
