Weavers and Spinners Guilds - Canada

Guild of Canadian Weavers
The GCW administers a Master Weaver certificate program that is open to anyone wishing to pursue a study of handweaving.

Guild of Canadian Weavers
The GCW is a nation-wide guild that promotes the technical and artistic standards of handweaving through establishing tests based on various levels of ability.

Northwest Weavers
The Association of Northwest Weavers Guilds website lists many guilds in both Canada and the U.S.

Complex Weavers
Complex Weavers is open to anyone who wants to learn more about weaving that is exciting, challenging and has a curiosity to know and a willingness to share.

Handweavers Guild of America
The HGA is an international, nonprofit, member organization, dedicated to supporting and encouraging fibre arts and preserving our textile cultural heritage.

AB – Heritage Weavers & Spinners
The Heritage Weavers & Spinners meet monthly in Calgary, AB.

AB – Handweavers, Spinners and Dyers of Alberta
The HWSDA has 200-300 members serving as a catalyst for fibre enthusiats. The association hosts an annual 3 day conference in May.

BC – Coquitlam Weavers Guild
The Coquitlam guild meets monthly at the Place des Arts.

BC – Kamloops Arts and Crafts Club
The Kamloops Arts and Crafts Club meet weekly in Kamloops to spin, weave and share ideas with each other.

BC – Langley Weavers & Spinners Guild
The Langley Guild has on going workshop and programs through out the year.

NS – Atlantic Spinners and Handweavers
Weavers, spinners and dyers in the Halifax area have the opportunity to exchange ideas and learn new techniques.

ON – Niagara Handweavers and Spinners
The Guild has promoted the art of spinning and weaving for over 50 years, in the Niagara, Chippawa area.

ON – Sarnia Handweavers and Spinners Guild
The Sarnia guild exhibits their handspun yarns, Latvian vests, inkle bands and woven tea towels.

Trillium Handspinners & Weavers
Guild members meet monthly in Hunstville Ontario to exchange information and learn new techniques.
